" Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and goods; for theirs ( in return ) is the garden ( of paradise ): they fight in his cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qu'ran." [Qu'ran 9.11.1]" It is a 'divine' commandment to persecute Jews and Christians, to defeat them in battle and then to consign them either to slavery or to death." [Surah 8:39; 9:5, 29: 47:4]
O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed. [Qu'ran 9:73]
What constitutes an "Unbeliever" in God according to Islam? The answer may surprise many people not familiar with Islam, especially those who's understandings are based upon the media's presentation of Islamic propagandists who speak of "Tolerance" for other religions. Let us then allow the teachings of the religion itself to provide a direct answer to the question that there be no ambiguity:
And the Jews say: Uzair is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away! [Qu'ran 9.030]
It is then clear from this verse that both Christians, Jews, Pagans, Wiccans, Agnostics ans Atheists are regarded as unbelievers or "Kafir". A Kafir is anyone who does not accept the message of Muhammad as revealed to him and recorded in the Holy Qu'ran. Is this verse the only substantiation of Jews and Christians as objects of scorn and eventual destruction by Islam? No it is not. Although Muslim propagandists have appeared many times in the media claiming that Christians and Jews are respected by Islam as "People of the book" (the Bible), this assertion is a blatent lie. Here is what Islam actually teaches Muslims about how to treat the "People of the book":
Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. [Qu'ran 9.29]
Once a person actually sees for themselves the teachings contained in the Qu'ran and finds not tolerance, but venomous anti-semitism and Christian persecution, the Muslim has another line of defense in the vain attempt to explain away the obvious cruelty and hate of his religion:
" You are taking the verse out of context "
As westerners begin to take an interest in Islam which exceeds the soundbytes of Islamic propagandists in the media, the challenge presented by this argument can easily be met. The Muslim's further explanation of why the verse is out of context goes something like this:
" This verse is talking about a time during which Muhammad was forced to deal with Jewish and Christian military attack and it is historical, not doctrinal ".
Although these verses were in fact written during the violent Medina phase of the establishment of Islam, the Qu'ran does not qualify the historical setting as such, but rather makes use of the war taking place as a political/religious platform for the establishment of the Islamic doctrine of Jihad against Jews, Christians, and "pagans" as a permanent position of Islam. The proof that this "out of context" defense by Muslims is complete rubbish is contained in the grammatical structure of the verses themselves:
Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. [Qu'ran 9.29]
Notice then: "Fight","until", "pay", "feel". Were the verse only an "ancient historical account of a battle", the verse would say "Fought", "paid", and "felt". Even a school boy understands the difference between present and past tense sentance structure. Muslims then go on to attempt to continue their denial by citing the Bible's Old Testament passages of violence and war as evidence that Islam is no different than any other religion in it's accounts of violence. Nothing could be further from the truth, and this argument by them is decimated by the striking difference in sentance structure between the Bible and the Qu'ran:
"The Lord said to David", "And David slew Goliath", "and the Lord commanded them", "and they went up".
In fact, the past tense sentance structure of The Bible's historical content is clearly self evident in it's recognition of seperation of statements of doctrine from recounting of past events. That the Qu'ran's verses of war against Jews and Christians are specificly NOT written in the past tense is PROOF that the commands are statements of permanent doctrine with regard to the treatment of Jews and Christians.
Now let us examine more of the Qu'ran's commandments to followers of Islam:
Then fight in Allah' s cause - Thou art held responsible only for thyself - and rouse the believers. It may be that Allah will restrain the fury of the Unbelievers; for Allah is the strongest in might and in punishment. [Qu'ran 4:84]
I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them [Qu'ran 8:12]Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believers, [Qu'ran 9:14]
In the Qu'ran, the Muslim is also absolved by Allah from any personal moral culpability for the murder of unbelievers. Read the following verse:
It is not ye who slew them; it was Allah: when thou threwest (a handful of dust), it was not thy act, but Allah's: in order that He might test the Believers by a gracious trial from Himself [Qu'ran 8:17]
As compelling as the facts thus far in evidence are that Islam explicitly teaches it's followers to wage war against Jews, Christians, and the West in general, there is one final argument the Islamic propagandist bent upon concealing the true nature of Islam from the westerner makes when all else fails. It goes something like this:
" You can not rely on the translations of the Qu'ran into English. The glorious Qu'ran contains the very speech of Allah and it's true meaning can only be understood in Arabic where it's sacred message is unveiled by Allah himself ".
Assuming we are willing to continue our challenge to the Muslim after a statement as absurd and undemonstrable as this one is, we are able to decimate this blatent lie with the "Surah". What is a Surah? A Surah is a clarification and a summation of the MEANING of specific verses of the Qu'ran for Islamic doctrine. Surah are not "the actual speech of Allah", but the Islamic tradition's OWN INTERPERTATION of the Qu'ran to the followers of Islam. Let us then look at Islam's OWN interpertation of Islam and let us then end this absurd debate with the Islamic propagandists with decimating finality:

The Real Meaning of Jihad in Islam
It is stated by Muslim propagandists that "Jihad" is misunderstood by the west: That it is not violent, that it does not mean "Holy War". Any definition of a descriptive term not explicitly defined, can only be made by examining the subject of the artical it is contained in, and the context in which it appears. It is claimed by Islamic propagandists that "Jihad" means "spiritual struggle", that it is personal, and that it is only "a battle within the Muslim's heart and mind to attain spiritual unity with Allah ". Let us then look at the subject, the artical, and the context of Jihad within the Qu'ran itself to see if it's as peaceful as they claim it is:The subject: The majority of the 9th chapter of the Qu'ran deals with the enemies of Islam and how the Muslim is to bear ams in "struggle" - Jihad- against them. We have already proved that by mear fact of their existance as "unbelievers", Jews, Christians, Agnostics, Atheists and all other "Pagans" are "the enemies of Allah" according to the Qu'ran, and that they are to be either killed, or forced to pay a tax to live. As the 9th chapter of the Qu'ran's directives for war against unbelievers moves twords a final admonition to obey the commands to destroy "Pagans", Jews and Christians through war, we find the entire chapter's directive to Jihad summerized with a warning to Muslims from Allah:
Unless ye go forth, (for Jihad) He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place; but Him ye would not harm in the least. [Qu'ran 9:39]
Usama bin Laden is not "distorting" Islam. He is actually practicing Islam very faithfully according to the teachings of Islam itself.
Not only is the command to "go forth for Jihad" again written in the present tense as permanent fixture Islamic doctrine, the Muslim who refuses to take part in the war against unbelievers actually faces "a grievous penalty" from Allah. Notice the words "Go forth". One does not "go forth" in an INNER "struggle". "Go forth" is a statement of action, not of contemplation or "spiritual" thought. Can there be any doubt of Islam's intent to kill Christians and Jews to establish Islam with violent finality against them? Let us look to the Hadith - "the sayings of Muhammad" - and allow Islam itself to answer this question to see if such a genocidal quest is really what Islam is about:
"The Day of Resurrection will not arrive until the Moslems make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: 'Oh Moslem, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!'" (Sahih Bukhari 004.52.176)
The "reward" for being obediant to Allah's command to Jihad is paradise when the Muslim is killed for the cause of Allah. We find that the verse which addresses the subject of Jihad and martyrdom for Allah is actually located at 9:11.1 in the Qu'ran:

Do you really think that the choice of September 11th as the date for the attack on America can be a coincidence after reading this verse and seeing that it's verse "9/11/01" ? Can you possibly accept our politicans characterization of Islam as "a religion of peace" knowing that this act of Jihad and Islamic martydom against "unbelievers" was so clearly directed by the Qu'ran and thus by Islam itself ?
